SDK Release: more flexible consent, code reading and breaking changes

This month’s update brings a more flexible Terms and Conditions component on Web, new code-reading options in document capture and stability improvements across Web and Mobile. It also includes changes that require review before updating.

The Terms and Conditions component supports several individual consents and opens legal documents in a modal, without leaving the flow.

A new optional QR or code reading step in SelphID (Web) and an enhanced barcode reading mode on Mobile.

Changes to review before updating

On iOS, FileUploader, QR Reader and QR Generator move to a new widget. On Web, a Terms and Conditions property is renamed and the status for exhausted retries changes.

SDK Web

New features

  • Consent checkbox (v3.39.0): replaces scroll-to-accept in Terms and Conditions. The text is set with checkboxLabelText.
  • Multiple consents (v3.39.1): consents lets you require several consents, each with its own text, optional link and required flag. They are reported in the userAccept event, and required consents are marked with an asterisk (v3.39.2).
  • Legal links in a modal (v3.39.1): modalLinks opens them without leaving the flow, with zoom and selectable text (v3.39.2).
  • Code reading in SelphID (v3.39.0): codeReader adds an optional QR or code capture step.
  • Minimum capture duration (v3.39.0): minCaptureTime keeps the capture open until the video reaches a minimum duration, in seconds.
  • Device check (v3.39.0): checkCapabilities, in the /capabilities.mjs subpath, checks device requirements before the SDK provider is mounted.
  • New events (v3.39.0): emitFinishQr, fired when the QR flow finishes, and start in emitTrackStatus for Selphi and SelphID.
  • Maximum attempts (v3.38.1): Selphi and SelphID now handle the maximum number of attempts.
  • Expired URLs (v3.39.1): the SDK shows a specific error and stops the process.

Customization

  • Dark mode in widgets (v3.39.0): theme colour support for widgets in dark mode.
  • Code reader scan area colour (v3.39.1): new CSS variable to customise the overlay colour of the SelphID code reader scan area.
  • Selphi error animations (v3.38.1): new CSS variables --wrapper-color-tutorial-border-error and --wrapper-color-tutorial-glow-error.
  • livenessMove animation (v3.39.0): can now be customised.
  • Updated default strings (v3.39.0): new default texts for Terms and Conditions and for the Choose Document button.
  • Animation validation (v3.39.0): tipAnimations requires at least two entries and tutorialAnimations at least three. An empty entry keeps that platform’s default animation.

Improvements

  • Selphi widget updated (v3.40.0).

Bug fixes

  • Loading screen (v3.38.1 and v3.39.3): the SDK no longer stays on the loading screen after a failed flow request or an expired URL.
  • Expired URL (v3.39.3): the SDK stops with the correct error and no longer shows a misleading internal tracking error.
  • Retries (v3.39.3): the retry-limit screen is no longer replaced by a generic error, and a failed attempt no longer reports an error on a step the user can still complete.
  • Recoverable errors (v3.38.1 and v3.39.3): a non-blocking error no longer halts the capture widgets, and recoverable errors no longer end the IDV flow before the user can retry.
  • Terms and Conditions modal (v3.39.2 and v3.39.3): PDF links no longer open blank in mobile browsers and WebViews, and the close button is no longer out of reach on mobile.
  • Tracking (v3.39.0 and v3.39.1): fixed the formatting of the steps property, and facial capture no longer reports its IDV events as a document capture.
  • Build (v3.39.0): fixed a build failure in consumer apps caused by an unresolved internal validation module.
  • Other (v3.38.1 and v3.39.1): state from a previous execution no longer persists into the next one, and text no longer renders too bold in Safari.

Breaking changes

  • Terms and Conditions property renamed (v3.39.1): TermsConditions is now termsConditions.
  • New status for exhausted retries (v3.39.1): captures that exhaust the retry limit return their own result status. Previously they were reported as expired. If your integration interprets the ‘expired’ status for this case, review the logic.

  • Barcode reading in SelphID (v2.11.0): the new input parameter encodedDataFocusEnabled enables barcode reading mode when a code is hard to read. The new output parameters encodedDataImages: List<SelphIDEncodedDataImage> and tokenEncodedDataImages: List<SelphIDEncodedDataToken> return the result. Only active in the MBSDR version and with a resource zip from a version later than 1.41.4.
  • Full-screen scrolling (v2.10.0): on the previous tip, tutorial and diagnostic screens.
  • SDK process cancellation (v2.10.0).

  • General: new design library version, 2.7.7 (v2.10.0).
  • Tracking: new widget version, 1.4.11, with a remote time retrieval service (v2.12.0).
  • Selphi: new widget version, 6.4.1, with IAD improvements (v2.12.0).
  • SelphID: new widget version, 1.41.5, with improvements to retrying the capture of the back of the document and to the logging system (MBSDR version) (v2.12.0).
  • Video ID: new widget version, 0.3.1, with a Reader update (v2.12.0).
  • NFC: new widget version, 0.3.10, with improvements to controller launch (v2.10.0).
  • Capture: new widget version, 1.3.6, with improvements to FileUploader controller launch (v2.10.0).

  • Tracking: new widget version, 1.4.11, with a remote time retrieval service (v2.12.0).
  • Phingers: new widget version, 1.5.5 (v2.11.0).
  • VideoID: FPHISelphidDocumentReaderBundle updated to version 3.3.8 (v2.11.0).
  • NFC 2.19.0: Core dependency updated to 2.11.0 (v2.11.0).
  • Minimum SPM package platform: iOS 13 (v2.11.0).

Bug fixes

  • Fixed two-step document scanning (1.41.X). The previous extractor is kept until the back is captured correctly, which fixes the back side being repeated (v2.12.0).
  • Fixed the NFC session progress indicator, which now shows 6 dots on a separate line below the description (v2.11.0).

Breaking changes

  • Capture (v2.11.0): FileUploader, QR Reader and QR Generator move to FPHICaptureWidget (KMP). The native UI (Invoice, gallery and native QR screens) is removed. Widget 1.4.3. Integrations using these components must review their implementation before updating.
