Alicante, 5th April 2017.- The Spanish company, FacePhi, with, has passed FIDO UAF interoperability testing for its UAF Authenticator implementation last month. With this test, FacePhi has earned FIDO Certification that ensures the compliance of the FIDO standards and the improvement of the security and privacy of the
authentication process.
Moreover, the advantages of this certification are the improvement in the usability of authentication, avoiding passwords (Passwordless Experience), providing an easy and fast process (transparent for the users) and needing just a mobile or tablet device. Also, FIDO UAF protocol ensures protection against phishing, man-in-the-middle or replay attacks. Finally, the server doesn’t store any secrets that could be stolen; keys and biometric patterns are always in the device and all this without the use of third parties’ software.
FIDO Certification is a program that allows to ensure the interoperability between products and services from different companies that support FIDO specifications. Those companies which complete the certification are able to show FIDO’s Certified logotype to evidence users, clients and partners that they created an interoperable and quality FIDO implementation, and they are able to work with any other FIDO implementations.
FIDO is the most important set of standards related with authentication processes. It allows to incorporate biometric software in an easy and secure way in a very different kind of online services and processes. The “FIDO ecosystem” is totally scalable and open, significantly allowing multiple biometrics integration -i.e. face, eyes, veins…- in different environments -mobile and web-.
