We’ve reached a new milestone on our path toward more inclusive design.
Our onboarding and authentication solutions have earned the three-star AIS accessibility certification for the digital environment, which corresponds to Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2).
This recognition applies to our web, iOS, and Android environments, in compliance with UNE EN 301549:2022 and aligned with the European Accessibility Act, effective as of June 2025.
Obtaining this certification validates more than three years of cross-functional collaboration between our Design, UX/UI, and Development teams, reinforcing our purpose: to create digital experiences that are accessible to everyone—without exception.
“Designing is not just about solving problems; it’s about deciding what kind of world you help to build.
At Facephi, that world is accessible, ethical, and inclusive.”
— Vicky Tomasek, Director of UX and Design
What does WCAG 2.2 Level AA compliance mean?
WCAG 2.2 Level AA ensures that digital products are understandable, usable, and perceivable by the widest possible range of users. The criteria we meet include:
- Sufficient colour contrast (at least 4.5:1 for normal text).
- Full navigation without the need to view the screen.
- Clear, readable text and uncertainty-free user flows.
- Proper labels and descriptions in forms and images.
- Touch controls large enough to interact comfortably (new in version 2.2).
- Protection against information loss due to time limits or input errors.
These principles ensure a smooth, intuitive, and universal experience, regardless of users’ abilities, devices, or contexts of use.
Accessibility: an ethical and strategic decision
Achieving this certification goes far beyond meeting a technical standard—it validates a design approach rooted in empathy.
Inclusive design has been part of our process from the very first stage of development, not as an afterthought. We design with different environments, abilities, and interaction modes in mind to ensure that everyone can use our solutions with the same confidence and ease.
Moreover, making our products more accessible not only improves user experience but also reduces friction and increases conversion.
Ethical and inclusive design: technology in service of people
Designing digital identity solutions carries great responsibility. Every decision we make influences how people trust, interact with, and relate to their digital identity.
In this sense, accessibility and ethics are inseparable principles: our goal is not only to meet regulatory standards but to build technology that inspires trust and respects human diversity.
